Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how VaxShield ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the VaxShield mobile application. VaxShield is operated by an individual developer (the "Developer"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who is responsible for your data
VaxShield is built so that the data you create stays under your control through Apple's services. Where this policy refers to data we "process," it means the limited, anonymized information described below. The Developer can be reached at 4itfcompany@gmail.com for any privacy question or request.
2. Information stored in your Apple account
When you use VaxShield, you may enter information such as:
- Names, nicknames, or birth dates of the children or family members you track;
- Vaccine and immunization records, dates, doses, and reminders;
- Notes, photos of records, or other content you choose to add.
This information is stored in your personal iCloud / CloudKit account using Apple's infrastructure. It syncs across your own Apple devices through your Apple account. We do not operate any server that receives this data, and we cannot access, read, or retrieve it. Your data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and your iCloud settings.
3. Information we do not collect
We do not collect, sell, rent, or share your personal information or health records. We do not maintain accounts, passwords, or user databases. Sign-in (if used) is handled entirely through your Apple account, and we never receive your Apple credentials.
4. Limited technical and diagnostic data
Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymized information that cannot identify you, such as:
- App Store download and basic usage statistics;
- Anonymous crash logs and performance diagnostics (only if you have enabled sharing in your device settings);
- Aggregate subscription metrics (for example, total number of active subscribers).
This information is provided by Apple in summary form, does not identify individual users, and is used only to fix bugs and improve the App. You can control diagnostic sharing in your device's Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
5. Subscriptions and payments
VaxShield may offer paid subscriptions. All purchases and payments are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We never receive or store your payment card, billing address, or other financial information. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy. To manage or cancel a subscription, use your device's Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions.
6. Children's privacy
VaxShield is a tool intended for use by parents and guardians to track the immunization records of their children. The App is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children directly.
Any information about a child that you enter is stored in your own Apple account under your control, as described above. Because we have no access to that data, we do not collect, use, or disclose children's information. As a parent or guardian, you are responsible for the data you choose to record about your family. We comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by not collecting children's personal information ourselves. 7. Health information
Immunization records are sensitive health information. VaxShield stores this data only within your own Apple account; we are not a healthcare provider, and the App is not a covered entity or business associate under HIPAA. We do not transmit your health data to ourselves or to third parties. You alone decide what to record and with whom to share it (for example, by exporting or showing it to your child's doctor).
8. Your privacy rights (U.S.)
Because we do not hold your personal data, most data-access and deletion requests are handled directly through your Apple account — you can view, edit, or delete your records inside the App or by managing your iCloud data. Depending on your state of residence (for example, under the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have rights to know, access, delete, or opt out of the "sale" of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any right or ask a question, email 4itfcompany@gmail.com, and we will respond as required by applicable law.
9. Data deletion
You can delete your data at any time by removing records within the App or by deleting the App and clearing its data from your iCloud account (Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage). Because we do not store your data, deleting it from your Apple account removes it entirely from VaxShield's reach.
10. Third-party services
VaxShield relies on Apple's iCloud, CloudKit, App Store, and StoreKit services. Your use of those services is subject to Apple's terms and privacy policy. We do not integrate third-party advertising or analytics SDKs that track you across apps. If this ever changes, we will update this policy first.
11. Security
VaxShield does not operate its own servers, databases, or accounts. The security of your data rests entirely on Apple's infrastructure — your Apple account, your device, and Apple's encryption of iCloud and CloudKit data. Because we never receive or store your data, we are not in a position to access, expose, or be breached for it. We are not responsible for the security practices, availability, or performance of Apple's services. We encourage you to protect your device with a passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and to enable two-factor authentication on your Apple account.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide notice within the App. Continued use of VaxShield after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
